Travel to the birthplace of surfing in the Philippines, Baler, Aurora. Tour the province and see the many wonders of nature and man-made artifacts inside some historic architectural structures. Escape to Baler for a great adventure with today's MetroDeal: Accommodation with inclusive of day tour, round-trip van transfers and more for P1999 instead of P5499.

During the tour, one of the places you'll visit is the Balete park, Ditumabo falls, Baler church, the Doña Aurora Aragon-Quezon house, Museo de Baler, Quezon Memorial park, Aniao islets, and the Ermita hill.

The Balete park is where the 600-year-old balete tree, officially named the  "Millennium Tree" of The Philippines stands. It is the largest tree of its kind in Asia, and it would take 60 grown men, holding one another at arm's length, to encircle its gigantic trunk.

Being the largest of its kind within the area, Ditumabo falls or Mother falls nestles deep in the mountains and has flowed out and given birth to several smaller falls and streams.

Originally constructed from stones and bricks in 1611, you will also get to visit the Baler church which was dedicated to San Luis Obispo de Tolosa. It is known as the site of the Siege of Baler, an event that took place from 1898 to 1899, shortly following the fall of the Spanish colonial government in the Philippines.

The Doña Aurora Aragon-Quezon House, the birthplace of the Philippine's First Lady during the Commonwealth government (1935 - 1944) is part of the list of places to visit too. After going through a major restoration, the original "bahay kubo" design still remains in this ancestral house.

Another stop over is the Museo de Baler and Quezon Memorial park that was put up to commemorate the Philippine-Spanish Friendship Day and relive the Siege of Baler. Lay eyes on the restored presidential car of the Baler-born President Manuel Quezon. His statue is located at the center of the park, in front of the museum which has been named in his honor.

The Aniao islets are two imposing islands that lie south of the islet of Dimadimalangat. With shrubs, small trees, and other greeneries growing on them, it juts straight from the sea like bullets. Kingfishers, gulls, and hawks use the islets as lookout points for prey. Towering waves relentlessly pound the base of the formations, challenging even the most intrepid of rock climbers.

Lastly, you'll drop by the Ermita Hill, a witness to the devastating tsunami-type tidal waves that struck Baler in the 1700s. Sometimes referred to as Ermita park, it serves as a tranquil sanctuary for residents and tourists, with scenic views of the Pacific Ocean, Baler Bay and Sabang beach, the river delta, thriving mangrove forests, and more.
