Back in 1978, Josefina “Ka Josie” Salamat founded her food business as just a counter outlet at Philippine Women’s University’s Bayanihan Paseo with pasta and sandwiches. Two years later, she and her staff opened their very first cafeteria in front of San Miguel Corporation’s Polo Brewery, and the rest as they say is history. Form there Ka Josie started servicing San Miguel plants all over the country with chefs from renowned hotels and restaurants jumping ship to join her team. They now also have restaurants like Cocina Pampanguena, Cocina Oriental, Café Josefina, and Josefina Garden Grill & Restaurant.
The restaurant serves dishes that other dampa restaurants don’t serve at all. Get a big taste of what they’re capable of with a Lunch or Dinner Buffet that doesn’t scrimp on offerings. On Saturdays and Sundays, make your first stop at the Salad Station with its spread of Ensaladang Ampalaya, Ensaladang Talong and Cucumber Salad in Thai Vinegrette. The Soup Station has your favorite Sinigang sa Sampalok na Hipon and Sinigang sa Sampalok na Isda. Enjoy a main course consisting of Baked Mussels with Melted Cheese and Herbs, Adobong Pusit, Ox Tail Kare-Kare, Pork Stew, Fried Vegetables, Spring Rolls and Special Noodles. At the Grilling Station, there’s Pork Barbeque and Grilled Fish, and Pork Sisig at the Sizzling Station. Cap off your meal with a trip or two to the Dessert Island where Minatamis na Saba, Halayang Ube, Maja Blanca, Pitchi-Pitchi, Cassava Cake and Brownies lay in wait. Resistance is futile.
